Marco is the result of a thesis on repair, with Réparer as its French title. Repair, as a consequence of a break or an injury, makes us aware of the concept of ephemerality. In today’s Western society, repairing often seeks to reproduce the new by concealing the marks of time. However, those marks can also be highlighted through the act of repair. This approach to repair, one that emphasizes care, can be considered an example of responsible design. The objective is no longer to cater to desires but to meet needs while minimizing environmental impact. If digital technology is still presented as an ecological solution today, it is because its challenges are mistakenly perceived as ephemeral due to its dematerialized nature. As digital consumption continues to grow exponentially, it addresses the issue of digital sobriety by attempting to "repair" it through photography. Marco is a camera that fosters a new approach to digital photography. More restrained by design, it reduces the digital footprint of photos by limiting both their number and resolution. At the same time, it enhances their emotional impact and artistic value. Marco frames and elevates the essence of memories.
